We have ran E-85 for the past 8 years, 14.5-1 750+ horsepower. We run straight from the pump but you must check every batch for ethanol content, it can be anywhere from 70-92. if its lower than 85 it runs rich and is down on power, over 85 it leans out. It's easy correct pump blend by adding more unleaded if ethanol content is too high. If its too low (usually early spring) we buy a barrel of renegade e85 till summer blend is available at the pump.
I recommend JDR carburetors , he has the e-85 stuff figured out.

I also run e85 from renegade, but it's called e112 because it's mixed with 112 leaded race gas instead of being mixed with standard 93. Probably a little better for your engine as well.

Renegade is the way to go if you don't want to deal with the hassle of checking/correcting pump fuel.
We have ran renegade & pump e-85 back to back on the dyno, there is no difference in power or torque. The last barrel for Renegade was , I believe , $275. Pump E-85 is $110 per barrel.

That's going to depend on the engine and carbs and of course the gas it's being compared to. There can be a 15hp difference just between good and bad gas carbs, methanol carbs, or E-85 carburetors. The cam profile and other characteristics will also affect the gains you'll see with E-85 versus gas. It may not apply to your situation but I've seen 10 hp and 20-30# tq increase with E-85 versus 110 many times. The tests were done with application specific, well tuned JDR carbs on 2bbl and 4bbl builds with anywhere between 9:1 and 13:1 and with pump or Renegade fuel.
