Anyone on here do any Laser or plasma cutting?

Need some parts cut, can supply the files need in whatever format.

Note: A DFX file will be the easiest for most companies to convert to the program they are using.

a shop up the road from me has a water jet , he cut me a torque plate out of 2in aluminum to bore Harley jugs a while back , thats the way to go if you can find one close to you....

Since it's a cage, I assume you're doing the plates which will likely be 3/4" or more so your likely going to need to do a water jet if you wanting a decent finish or having holes/slots cut with any precision so you don't have to machine some of it. After 1/2" to 5/8" most lazer's aren't going to give you that unless they have a really high end machine.

If you weigh the aluminum pieces you have now and exact copy them in steel without adding material it will weight approximately 3 times the alum piece so you get a net gain of 200%.

alum 168.48# per cubic foot
steal 490.00ish # per cubic foot

So make sure that is the gain you need or want before spending the money as just copying some of the bolt on brackets won't gain as much as you thing unless you add material.

NX10 (UG) says its 30 lbs, 1/2 plate for the ears. Think that's worth it? or should i add in more weight?

What do you run? I have some being made at the moment and will have a few sets for sell.
