Owner Charles Miller has sold the former Carolina Speedway property to Scott Tripp. The new name for the facility will be Lake View Motor Speedway.
Back in the day, it was a hotbed for sanctioned super late model racing. Perhaps that will happen again.

Yep, LV is coming back! Mr. Tripp says the one thing he won't stand for is a single-groove race track....whatever it takes to create multi-lane racing is what's gonna happen!

Cool! Seems like I remember a, "Hav A Tampa" race there back in 95'. Freddy led the first half, then spun off getting into 3, and then Bloomquist went on to win his first televised victory. Trace Allie did color commentary.

Lakeview was a staple of the old Hav-A-Tampa series. Opening Saturday April 7, LakeView Motor Speedway will race in tandem and in conjunction with Fayetteville and will not operate on a weekly basis for 2018. The schedule is not finalized but officials hope to have around 12 events this season. It's a work in progress, and many renovations are on tap and will be on-going. Grand opening is being scheduled for May.

Hoping to get up there for a show. I was there for that 95 HAT show - it was my birthday weekend.

At one of those HAT races there, a certain driver was brought to the track in handcuffs, raced, and departed the track in handcuffs. Step up and place your bets on the identity!

Did it involve a rare and daring pass on the outside?

as best as I can tell the HAt guys ran there from 1992-1996, after that I didn't see Lakeview on the schedule. But here are the winners from those years.

92' Ed Gibbons
93' Scott Bloomquist
94' Scott Bloomquist
95' Scott Bloomquist(Ed Gibbons was suppose to start on pole but, DNS)
96' Skip Arp

I've got the 95 TV race on VHS here somewhere, always wondered what happened to the track.

Scott Tripp......any relation to Bill that runs ( or used to) with the bell and bell guys?

They can clean and spruce up, change the track a little to make it more racey, but please tell them not to change up the concessions a whole lot......one of the best racetrack hot dogs in the country....not fancy just good.

He was the obvious pick, which Is why I didn't pick him. Kinda surprised that TN would bother driving him to another state to let him race. Not a drug user myself, never have, but more and more the drug war seems fruitless, stupid and crazy expensive, just like "Prohibition" in the 20's. Thanks for the trivia and trip down memory lane. Later.
