The closest decent hotel is the Comfort Suites at exit 29 off I95. I wouldnt stay at the other hotels at that exit. If you want to splurge a little stay on St Simons Island. The Hampton Inn over there is the most reasonably priced.

We stayed on I-95 like 10-15 miles from the track, lots of hotels there. Also, if you get a chance go to St Simons island and eat at Southern Soul BBQ

Yep Jekyll is definitely the place to stay. And Southern Soul is definitely the place to eat. There used to be a pretty good place just past the racetrack on the right coming from 95 that was good as well.

Its a cool track/area and you will enjoy it for sure. We went last year and had a blast, going to Volusia/East Bay this year. I will definitely go back to Golden Isles at some point though. Really nice facility, they had pretty good counts in the local classes, and the LOLMDS. I really liked Brunswick as well, a lot more to do than there was near Screven where we went a few years back. (Also, Broomelli Boys Pizzeria was really good - right in Brunswick). As others have said, and will say, make sure you go to Jekyll Island, there is a lot to see and the place is really nice. I really liked the driftwood beach for sure as well.

flagone,

The place down the street was called Hooterville Diner, I've ate there...Really good.

Thanks for putting me on Southern Soul last year and it was a pleasure dining with you. The BBQ turned out to be better than the racing that weekend!

I Read on Facebook that Bobby Pierce is having motor issues and that they pulled the Wallace motor and put in a pro power.

Bshep was fastest, jd was 2nd quick.

No Erb or Bloomer.

Looked to be about 35-40 cars there.

That's where we stay every year. Usually spend our down time during the day on Jekyll Island.
