Pretty sure last year, only the last 2 races at East Bay were going to count, and one of those were rained out... 99% sure the $5k races at beginning of week don't count in year-long points... My best recollection...

Ok thanks. I thought there was a few races that were non points.

I don’t know how it works this year s.s. Last year it was Friday and Saturday. Think it has be 50 lap+ for point night. Wish they would do something like WoO with points during speed weeks.

Anybody know why they do it like this?

I would assume they run the races so the drivers can earn some money if they wish and don't have to return home, but counting every night as a points night would skew the points very heavily toward East Bay so running the non-points races keeps things more balanced than they'd be if they were all points races. Also, I'm sure the crowds are smaller during the week and running 50-60 lappers every night and paying the standard 10k 12k would be a losing proposition and counting 25-30 laps races the same in points as a 50-60-100 lap race wouldn't be right.

Surprised Bloomquist raced tonight or even tomorrow

I think they should pay points for all sanctioned events. But they should do even points nights for shows less than $10K. Everyone one gets 100 points if they take the green for a heat race.

Make the regulars race the smaller shows; or what is the point of having the sanction.

I think last year only Thursday, Friday and Saturday were point nights. Bloomquist missed a night or two for the hand laceration that kept him in the hospital.

I think last year only Thursday, Friday and Saturday were point nights. Bloomquist missed a night or two for the hand laceration that kept him in the hospital.

Only Friday and Saturday were points paying events, its been that way as far as I can remember. The last time all six events were points paying races was when the old STARS and HAV-A-TAMPA series had three events a piece rotating nights.

I don't believe Bloomquist missed a points paying event last year.
