Wonder which WoO drivers will go ahead and go to East Bay then hit Bubba.

Screven tweeted I think yesterday they had every intention of racing.

Bummer for Screven and the fans/drivers that had it in their plans. Should make for an outstanding remainder of the week at East Bay though.

Should have never started going against East Bay to begin with.

Whats that got to do with the events being rained out? Last year both events had plenty of cars.

Hopefully they can find a date to reschedule. Ive been lucky enough to go the last 2 years and despite the ball numbing cold i had a blast.

Following the weather here in GA. it has been changing daily. The latest this am is 2 days of 70+ weather. Hummmm, so makes someone wonder if they pulled the plug to early.

Believe they were very hasty.

Things don't dry like they do in the summer heat. It would be a mess to try to get the track ready and wreck a bunch of cars just to race.

It rained 3.5" there yesterday. Weather Channel shows 60% all day Friday and 80% Saturday night.

today is our last day of sunshine down here for the next 6 or 7 days and strong chances of rain every day , this is a good call...........

Is the track not in Sylvania? Been seeing less than 50% for days.

Newington is the closest municipality. This is the local Weather Channel forecast.

Well I live just outside of savanna and the reports I have seen are saying 30% chance friday, 20% saturday. Just seemed to me they yanked the plug early. For those not in the south, rumors have been going around about the facility as a hole. They never scheduled the added races on the small tracks and I hear the dragstrip needs demo'd and totally redone. That dirt oval is one racey joint. Guess will have to wait and see. I see fastrack rescheduled 2 dates. Who knows ? Volusia is only a 3 hr drive so it looks like I'm headed that way.

I cannot speak for much as far as Screven's facilities but I planned on going as I bought a plane ticket. I look at the weather and I am pretty sure they could have raced Friday night and tonight is a 20-40 % chance of rain. Way too early to call it off without even trying. They were not even calling for rain on Thursday so if the facility was too wet it had a whole day to dry. Wunderground is calling for a whopping 40% chance to get .03 inches of rain today.

It actually isn't going to be freezing cold either, like it usually is.

Totally blew it on this one...no rain today at Screven. Both nights could have easily gotten in.

It rained 3 inches Friday night between 6 and 8 PM. There was no getting anything in. Add that to the 3.5" that fell on Wed night and there is no way the grounds would have been dried out enough to race or prepare. You cannot change the weather.

There is nothing going on with the facility as a WHOLE. The drag strip was just resurfaced and will be open in April when the reworked shutdown lanes are completed and repaved. The old go kart track is being expanded to a quarter mile which is why it wasn't scheduled to race for this event. Don't believe rumors. Come and look for yourself. There will be an event next weekend which includes FASTRAK, SCDRA FWD, Super Street, Stock V-8, Mini Late Models and Road Warriors.

And do you think someone would spend $8000 in advertising for an event they never intended to run? Electronic billboards, TV, radio, social media, etc. ALL races except the World of Outlaw event have been rescheduled and will be run.

That must be totally off. Not all decisions are perfect. Some are happy that it was cancelled and others are not. Tough position for everyone.

If you scroll down it shows where it was raining for several hours. The total value isn't registering because it shows many of the precip values as N/A. Also this is Sylvania. Use Newington which is literally one mile away whereas Sylvania is 10 miles away.

all i can say is we were there last year and it was one of the best shows I've ever been too, top of the line with racing everywhere, they know how to make a show work from what i have seen, if you like racing they have a bunch of it there, just my opinion

Well I can attest to the media blitz, and yes I'm sure it wasn't cheap. Rumors are just that. Thanks for giving us some insight on what's going on at screven. I have not looked at either schedule. Were no dates available after speedweeks for a rain date ?
