Southern Nationals Bonus Series Opens Fifth Season March 16th at Tri-County Race Track

March 11, 2018 (Brasstown, NC)—The 2018 campaign for the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV will be in full force starting with the first points race on Friday March 16th at Ray Cook’s Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, N.C. during the Annual Spring Championships. The series will then visit Toccoa (Ga.) Raceway on Saturday March 17th as part of the opening double-header weekend.
On Friday March 16th at Tri-County Race Track the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series will make the first of three season visits racing 40 laps in the main event for $3,000-to-win and $300-to-start. In addition, the Todd Padgett-promoted United CC Modified Lite Series will also make their first-ever appearance while the Limited Late Models and Crate Late Models will race together for $700-to-win with a $200 bonus to the highest finishing LLM or CLM that doesn’t win. The Pony class will race for $300-to-win while the Front Wheel Drive Class will also be in action. The 602 Beginner and the Modified Hobby Class will also run together on this night racing for $400-to-win.
On Friday March 16th the pit & grandstand gates open at 5:00 pm with the Driver’s Meeting slated for 6:45 pm and racing to begin at around 7:00 pm. Adult General Admission is $18.00 with children ages 11-16 admitted for $10.00 while children ten and under are free. Adult Pit Passes are $35.00 while children ages 11-16 admitted for $15.00 while children ten and under are free.
The tire rule for the Tri-County Race Track SNBS event is as follows: Hoosier 1300, 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 44, 48 and 56 compounds. The Hoosier 1600 and American Racer 56 is a right-rear option. The entry fee is $100 plus a transponder rental if needed.
