Ponderosa Speedway Cancels Practice for March 23, March 24
Junction City, KY- March 20, 2018- With the continued unsettled weather pattern that has taken place over the Central Kentucky area for the past few weeks, Ponderosa Speedway has cancelled the practice dates that were scheduled for Friday March 23 and Saturday March 24 at the 3/8-mile D-shaped clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”.
“Mother Nature just has not been on our side in getting the track ready so far. We’ve had a lot of rain the last few weeks, plus snow last week, and we have been unable to work on the track surface”, stated Ponderosa Speedway promoter Chris Tilley. “We want to make sure the track is ready and safe for competitors. We will attempt to add a practice day before the racing season gets underway”, added Tilley. The date for the rescheduled practice will be announced at a later date.
The 2018 special-events schedule at Ponderosa Speedway will get underway on Friday April 20 when the historic track will host the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV for the 6th Annual Spring Showdown, paying $4,000 to win for stop number seven of the 2018 Spring Nationals tour. Other divisions in competition at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday April 20 will be Crate Late Models, KDRA Super Stocks, and KDRA Four Cylinders during the track’s 46th Annual Season Opener.
Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Mark and Sharon Naylor are the track owners, while Chris Tilley is the general manager/promoter.
