View Full Version : New Lucas rules in effect this week.

I am surprised. The Lucas series announced a handful of new rules going into effect this week and no one is on here complaining. No one talking about how this is a conspiracy to make racers spend money, or the drug rule is “unconstitutional”, or the shock rule eliminates just one maker of the air shock. Or that all these body rules will systematically change the price of aluminum and plastic. 😄😄. It looks as if all the naysayers about Rays droop rule have learned to hold comments until the action plays out on the track...

Anyone that is surprised by the rule change is a fool. Steve was very vocal about the cost and the direction things were going.

1). They are mostly common sense.

2). Dlm racing has already jumped the shark and the best days are in the rear view.

Looks to me like they basically just adopted the WoO's recent rule changes.

That one is unenforceable unless they have eyes 24/7 at every dirt track in the nation.

Agree, there's a few big names that pop into a specific track here in my area every year to do a couple test sessions. I would say there's no more than 20-30 people that know about it...

Same in my area.

5.13 PRACTICE
A.) No practice sessions (testing) is permitted within seven (7) days (not including series organized practice nights at an event) prior to a series event at any venue. B.) No data systems or harnesses are permitted at series organized practice sessions.

they really don't have to have eyes 24/7 at every dirt track. Just need to police the track they will be going to in the next 7 days.

That was my thought. But with FB, Twitter and whatever else out there now it's not hard to find out what someone is doing. It only takes one person to post something.

It seems to me that Francis is just trying to let the Capital cars catch up.

Practice rule question: how does this apply to a weekly racer supporting a special event at his hometown track?

what is the penalty for breaking the rule?

Nobody knows about overwhelming majority of practice sessions.

So this would be against the rules now? Has WoO already had this rule before Lucas or don't they have it.

I'd say it would be if it was within 7 days of that event.

It will be interesting to see what crew members fail drug tests. I dont understand adding a bunch of rules after the season has started. They should've been enforced from the opening race.

Will locals not be allowed to run the Lucas Series now?

Money, money, money. Some Teams already have a difficult time finding people to work on a crew. As for no testing within 7 days, well tell me this. Is that at the track the tour is stopping at ? Or are they saying a top 10 team cannot show up at ANY track to race ? So Francis could no longer run top 15. Well, I'll get even with them all. Maybe he's missing the time behind the wheel.

The rule to me is saying you cant test at a track they are going to within 7 days before they race there, anywhere else is fine

Who runs a Capital chassis on the Lucas tour?

You can still race within 7 days of a Lucas race just not testing. Testing is when you spend 8 hrs at a track trying different things and using data gathering equipment. WOO has had this rule for several years.

The practice rule is a little crazy but that means that if they have an open date then some of the lucas regulars might just go to the track they are going to next and race the weekend before and use the data systems then thats what i would do

The rule as it is enforced is no testing 7 days out of that track hosting a WoO race. You can test all week as long as the Outlaws won’t be there that week. When it comes to Capital, call down there and talk to those guys and see what they say. They are convinced the only reason they are getting beat right now is because everyone else is cheating, sounds similar to Francis.
