Dry sump question

putting a dry sump on a sbc 421, the drive pulley has a 28 tooth pulley this sounds to small for this engine size can someone give info if this needs changed?

My Bert has a 21 on the flywheel and 40 on the pump.

I've always gone 1:2 ratio.

40 on the pump is the right pulley
