When a race track is located in a bad service area, it's kind of hard for it work. It may not be worth it the casual fan, but its pretty vital at the track when helping a team. Most of the time, you can't even hear the PA system in the pit areas.

To chupp n bloomer fan, in regards to Pink Floyd liking Jameson now, it’s all about the chassis he is in. He’s in a Swartz now and apparently is forgiven of the tire doping and being a tad rough. Remember when Pink cried foul over the little rub on the last lap at Florence between Jameson and linville? Oh yeah linville was in a Swartz. Any time anybody has been caught doping tires Pink has been pretty vocal with his displeasure. But when ole Jackie Boogs gets rough or gets caught doping tires like at atomic, it’s nothing but crickets from his camp, he gets the “Swartz free pass”.

With about ten to go, Davenport cleared lapped traffic and started reeling Owens in. Was going to be interesting even if Owens hadn’t broken. Owens was faster middle and low, and JD was clearly faster up top. Richards with terrible luck once again. Easily the worst luck on the series so far this year. Davenport is the man. I can’t see anyone beating him for the title.

The strongest best rear ends in the world ... say the ads ... I’ve never used anything but winters and never had a single rear end problem. And but in the 90’s and early 2000’s I used to race every week. All of these company’s like tiger and bulldog all claim their stuff is stronger than kryptonite but yet I constantly see top guys DNF with broken rear ends and top guys always have fresh new stuff and they are still breaking lol

Early 90's and 2000's you had 725 hp 600 ft lbs of torque on a good day, try over 910 or so and over 725 ft lbs of torque now days. It will make a difference in durability.

All you have to do is catch a hole just right, tire bounces, it lands catches traction and you snap axles or rear end gears. Quick changes no matter the brand are immune to it. A 9 inch Ford can break a pinion gear with as little as 500 hp, seen it, been there done it.

Your not breaking a rear end due to shear load, its load then slack then load is when they break, and how could HP and TQ not be a factor? that doesn't even make since.

hucktyson
05-05-2018, 01:38 PM
Top fuel cars make 10,000 hp , the back tires make slightly more traction than an LM40 AND no one mistakes the starting line at a top fuel caliber venue as “ the black ice “ of Florence speedway. The HP is all relative , parts and pieces need to be engineered for their anticipated useage .... Yes we have more power now but we also have better materials and machinery also

Disagree with the bitch'n. Track was great, minimal dust. Parking was fine (I didn't show up so late as to feel compelled to park in the gunslinger's yard). 28/29 cars is enough for a good show (and the support classes had cars too). And if the dining experience and overall spit n' polish are not up to your standards, maybe dirt tracks aren't for you.

Sure there are things they could improve upon. #1 for me is that the first heat race didn't hit the track until almost 10:00. But the racing was good, and that's what we're there for, right?

We left there completely blanketed in dust. Parking always sucks at Tazewell. I've been going there for 20 years, so I know. It is what it is. We got there an hour before the drivers meeting. Three heat races for a Lucas show is disappointing, but that's the usual at Tazewell. A lot of drivers don't like it. Didn't eat the track's food. It's not that big a deal. Been to over 100 tracks the last 45 years. Seen a lot of great facilities and plenty of bad ones. That's dirt racing. Despite your concerns, I think I'll keep going.
