2 by Bloomquist, 1 Owens.

Whats McDowell running, i assume a Durham?

The Dream up next, i am sure Durham will win hands down.

Chevrolet needs something to battle with them RY45s, otherwise they better stay home.

Whats Shirley run BTW?

I didn't realize Andy Durham was racing, I thought he just built Rousch knock off engines...

22 Lucas Oil events this year so far, 18 wins for Durham. 2 by Pro Power, and Bronson and Overton is the other 2 that notched wins, i dont know what they run, i think Overton is running Clements?

Anyway, RY-45s seem pretty dominate to me. Kinda crazy, haven't looked at WoO just been following this trend this year.

Overton notched his victory with a borrowed sb2.

DOD article said Randy Clary engine for Overton at the Daughtery 10k to win. I know he used a Clary engine and won during Speedweeks as the poster above said.

Madden is leading the WOO points with a Clements Chevrolet. Shepherd has won one more race than he has though.

But he thanked Andy Durham race engines on the recap video. Something is a miss.

Its pretty clear, at least to me, if you dont have a RY-45 (Durham) your racing for second, at best on the Lucas Oil Tour. WoO, not as bad but you still have some. I think Hatfield has developed one, and i am not sure what Pierce is running? has Pro Power developed their own Ford RY Engines?

Pierce has a Pro Power RY 45. I've read HP figures in the mid 900s, but their Dyno numbers have always been high.

Yeah crazy part to me was that made over 850 Hp for 2000 rpm, and the torque is way up there, so its like the perfect engine, pulls all day on the big end and cant still dig off the corner. I think the pitch i was looking at was from Roush.

Bronson, Davenport, McCreadie,Josh Richards, and Owens, and Bobby Pierce were using D3 headed Ford based engines. Pierce did have a Pro Power D3 Ford. Bloomquist was the only one mentioned who actually had a RY45 engine. All except pierce did have engines built by Durham .

Why do they use old technology D3 vs. RY45 wide bore and GM wide bore?

Does GM actually build a wide bore block?

Seems, a lot of people put too much in to this engine deal. It is seldom, you use all of your power. Just at a handful of long tracks. Most detune these big spread bores, most of the time. Old school is, match engine to the track. Smokey Yunick once said,"A good engine is one you can set at 8k on the Dyno and go to lunch and have it still running, when you get back.". That is a good engine. However, he was one of the early builders, that paid attention to power curves, more than outright power.
