Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Models Set Sights on I-75 Raceway Saturday June 9th
SOMERSET, KY (June 4, 2018)—The Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series presented by DirtonDirt.com will get back to action on Saturday June 9th at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tenn. racing 40 laps for $3,000-to-win and $300-to-start.
This will mark the second-ever visit by the series to the Kyle Family-promoted facility located just minutes from Sweetwater, Tenn. Corey Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) of Loudon, Tenn. leads the point standings over Casey Roberts, Billy Ogle Jr., Jadon Frame and Ryan King. Donald McIntosh and Cory Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) have claimed victories so far in two series events.
During last year’s inaugural event, Kenny Collins of Colbert, Ga. claimed the $3,000 prize over David Payne of Murphy, N.C., Carder Miller of Salem, Va., Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn., and Benji Shaw of Tellico Plains, Tenn.
The tire rule for the I-75 Raceway event is as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56. The entry fee is $100. A $100 Bonus will be paid to the highest finishing all-steel motor in the feature from the series.
In addition to the Super Late Models, the A-Hobby, B-Hobby, Sportsman, Thunder, Four Cylinder, Front Wheel Drive and Road Warrior classes will all be in action.
Activities for the Saturday June 9th event at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, TN will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m., with the general admission area opening at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 6:45 p.m., with practice laps set for 7:00 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing. All times EDT. Ticket prices for the June 9 event at I-75 Raceway in the general admission area and tier parking will be $15.00 for adults with children 6-12 $5.00 and children five and under admitted free. Adult pit pass will be $30.00.
