Can somebody explain these heats to me? I thought points from first 2 races locked in field?

the points from the first two night sets lineups instead of instead of qualifying a third time

I agree with this format except inverting. Inverting takes away the hard work and effort the guys put in to finishing good the 1st two races....why reward a guy who runs mid-pack and penalize a guy who had his program together and drove his butt off to earn his good points? This is "Liberal" DLM racing.
