Once Bloomer passed him it was over. He would choose to start on the high side and JD just couldn't do anything starting on the bottom. By the time JD made it to the top, Bloomer was long gone. Needs to learn how to run the bottom.

I don't think it's fair to make accusations that some one does drugs when they've really actually never been seen doing them. I also don't think it's fair to bring up something from 20 something years ago that never really turned out to be anything. I mean he's not a member of the cartel or anything. If he was doing some (most think cocaine) you'd be able to tell over the years as the body would break down making it obviously visible. It's the only fire power people who don't like him have. Yes he does have shoulder issues on both arms it's been clear for a couple years now if not longer. I think the 2016 season may have been in jeopardy at one time because of it. I'd like to see 4m delete alot of this nonsense and speculation posts on here. They don't subject EVERYONE to a drug test. Randomly? Yes. Did they? Who knows. Are you going to just walk up to Owens and ask him they drug tested him? Or Clanton? Or Tmac? Etc. They'd be like get the f!ck outta here. I don't believe any of it except the fact he did slip and fall. And he did win the race.

Drug tests, differentiate between different drugs. If they didn't they be useless and inaccurate. It's ridiculous to think someone who was a crack addict could hurt themselves and go to the doctor and use that as an excuse for testing positive on a drug test. As for what drugs he may have been prescribed, no doctor, in his right mind would prescribe or administer a drug that would impair someone's ability then okay them to operate a racecar. Medical care is a bigger business than racing is, especially dirt track racing, and there's much more money and liability involved. For those of you concerned, here's two words "local anesthetic". If you go to the dentist and have dental work done, the dentist sometimes injects novocaine. Does this impair your ability to operate a vehicle? Of course not. It only acts on site and makes your jaw numb. That would be consistent with the claims he was wearing pain patches, as those would typically be local anesthetics like menthol or lidocaine.

no on knows what the doctor told or gave him on here im pretty sure , the only concern i would have , if i was the track or the driver , is if you had an accident and hurt or killed some one , and was on something , even prescribed by a doctor , there would be he!! to pay.....I have been a fan of ole bloomer for a long time and personally dont give 2 sh!ts what he done in the past , but in this day and age of law suits flying around every where , just seems like a lot bigger risk , doctor prescribed or not...JMO.....

Fastford, that's precisely why a doctor would never prescribe him such a medication and okay him to race. The doctor would be responsible and liable if something happened. The same would be true for the sanctioning body and the management of the racetrack. There's no way they would have allowed him to race had he been given anything that would have impaired his ability. Heck, that's the only reason they probably do this drug testing anyway. Do you think they really care if the drivers do drugs in their spare time? As long as they make money everyone's happy. That's the way business works nowadays. However, if they didn't do drug testing and something bad happened, they'd also face liability for not testing. As for pain medication, there are plenty of drugs that don't have any narcotic effects and any competent doctor knows this. I'm sure the sanctioning bodies and drug testing labs do as well.

You wouldn’t fail a drug test for any drug if your dr prescribed the medication. Your place of employment can’t fire you for any drug in your system prescribed by a medical doctor. Many states have an at will policy in which your employer doesn’t have to have to give you a reason to fire you. If you are prescribed a medication and are visibly impaired the states that are not an at will state cannot fire you until you fuk up. The only way to get around this is to have a banned substance list stating that under any circumstance, including prescribed medication that it would not be safe to perform your job on drug a,b,c,d. Also, this would have to be in the employee packet and signed by the employee. It’s a messed up system but a Drs orders go a long way. I personally haven’t read the WRG testing policy
