I’m throwing in the towel on my Summernationals trip. Spoon done postponed. Local weatherman I been watching said it looks wet though Friday. Ain’t worth the 600 plus mile risk. I should’ve picked last week. So I’m gonna take the 350 mile journey south where the forecast is looking just about perfect. Will try it again next year. ....But I’m still planning on I-55 next Saturday.

Which beach? I live on Perdido key which is between orange beach and Pensacola beach. Come on down. FYI there is a Mississippi State series race at a new track up around Flomaton, AL Saturday which is about an hour or so north of Pensacola. Also there is a Southern Super Series asphalt super late model race here in Pensacola on Friday night.

Headed to gulf shores. Lived in Bama my whole life and this will only be my 2nd trip to the Alabama beaches.

When I lived in Baton Rouge I use to go to Pensacola 3 times a year. Party-ed there for years.

Really disappointed though. 4-5 day Summernationals trip been on my bucket list at least 20 years. Stinks. I have to turn in vacation time in January. So i just hope it works out. It didn’t. Perhaps next year it will.

Might as well jump in, lol. I live in Phenix City, yeah, that phenix sh!tty... but I did have a cousin that lives in anniston/gadsden area. We used to stay with him bama bash weekend to race. He owned an audiology clinic up there.

I need to hook up with you guys at a race sometime. I am originally from Northwest Arkansas but moved to Mobile, AL in 2014 and to Pensacola in 2016. I have branches (welding supply company) all over the Southeast. I have branches in most of the places you discussed: Anniston, Decatur, and Columbus GA (aka phenix chitty) haha

Airgas. Have one in Opelika too.

PS when I say "have one", I don't run the place I'm just the fleet manager for the region, buy and sell the trucks, trailers, forklifts, etc the branches need. I cover about 130 branches from Vicksburg to Chattanooga to Gulfport to Atlanta to Key West. It is grueling at times. Good part is I get to travel a lot and can usually parlay a work trip into a race weekend.

My guys in Bessemer tell me that Red Farmer still comes in there from time to time to get bottles and supplies but I've never seen him when I'm there haha

Yea not much in Snead but it's all good, I know a lot of the 0eople at Airgas in Anniston, used to work for a medical company delivering liquid oxygen and used to fill up there a good bit. Red Farmer runs Talladega regularly, old man isn't bad lol

We use airgun for all of our stuff on base. I work at Fort Benning in the sheet metal and welding shop.

Use to go to the Power Boat races every year on miss river. years a go last year i went miss Bardahl went air born and blow to peaces and kill the driver, Back when they used the air plane motors in them. parts of the Boat went 100es of feet in the air.
