Tazewell Speedway Host Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals Bonus Series/Iron-Man Series/Brucebilt Modifieds on Tuesday July 3
SOMERSET, KY – June 26, 2018 – The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV and the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series presented by DirtonDirt.com will again co-sanction race action with a special event on Tuesday July 3 at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN for the Firecracker 40, paying $5,000 to win for Super Late Models. In addition, the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will be in competition as well, racing for $1,000 to win.
The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV and the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series presented by DirtonDirt.com will co-sanction the event at Tazewell Speedway on Tuesday July 3, with the Firecracker 40 feature contest paying $5,000 to win and $450 to start. The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will be in action on the racing card at Tazewell Speedway as well on Tuesday July 3, competing for $1,000 to win and $100 to start. In addition, the Tazewell Speedway Sportsman Late Models will race for $800 to win, Four Cylinders will race for $500 to win, and Classic Cars will race for $500 to win. The pit area will open at 4:00 p.m. with the general admission area opening at 5:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., while practice laps will begin when the sun does down over the backstretch. Ticket prices at Tazewell Speedway on Tuesday July 3 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will be $35. In addition, there will be a huge Fireworks show, along with a live band performance from the Marshall Hickey Band in the main concourse area that is free to anyone with a grandstand ticket or pit pass from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
The Super Late Model portion of the program will be sanctioned by the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series and the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series. The entry fee will be $100, plus transponder rental for timing/scoring purposes. The Super Late Model tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 and American Racer 48 and 56. Random tire samples will be taken by the series. Drivers not making the feature event will receive $50 tow money.
The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will sanction the Open Wheel Modified portion of the program. The entry fee will be $25, plus transponder rental for timing/scoring purposes. The Open Wheel Modified tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier M30 or M60 and American Racer Hard and Extra Hard. The Hoosier M60 and American Racer Extra Hard is an option on the right rear of the cars and all tires can be siped, but no grooving of any tire is allowed. Random tire samples will be taken by the series. Drivers not making the feature event will receive $25 tow money.
