CARTERSVILLE, GA – With a high percentage of rain on Sunday, Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series and Cochran Motor Speedway officials have decided to cancel Sunday night’s 50-lap $2,500-to-win second leg of the Salute To America Nationals at the Cochran, GA clay oval.
The 50-lap $2,500-to-win Salute To America Nationals Races for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA on Saturday night and at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL set for Tuesday night are still on.
With the Salute To America Nationals now being reduced from a three-race series to a two-race series, the Bonus Bucks from Mike Vaughn’s Auto Exchange has been adjusted. If a driver can win both races, they will pocket a $1,000 bonus for a $6,000 payday for two races. If there is not a repeat winner, the driver with the most points over the two nights of racing will pocket a $500 Bonus.
On Saturday at Boyd’s Speedway, the pit gate opens at 3 p.m. with Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Chevy Fan Zone will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. The Drivers Meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. with Hot Laps and Racing to follow.
