How many other folks went to Terre Haute the day after the rescheduled Million at Eldora?

The heartbreak 50, or something like that? That was awful, if I remember right a lapped car junked Frye on the front stretch....

Someone dropped a muffler and a track worker ran out to pick it up before cars sllowed down, as I recall Brian clendenon trashed his car also very dusty and Pierce won

For as big of a track as the place is, I thought the racing was excellent in the feature. First time I’ve ever been and I’ll be back. Definitely a place that’s hard on motors and tires, huge track.

I was working the backstretch for the race the day after the million. Pulled a fender off of a car during a caution, and my glove stuck to the right rear tire it was so hot and wore down. Definitely a race to forget.

Yep, that was a really crappy race. Took my son back to see the Million at Eldora, a place he'd heard me talk about for years, then went to Terra Haute the next day. I'd spent most of a year in Indiana building a tire factory for Goodrich and been to a USAC show or 2 there in the late '60s. My boy said it was a tired looking place and I'd have to agree.

I thought last night's race was pretty good.

I liked the facility at Terre Haute. I'm glad we went, but the race after the Million was not so good. It was about 100 degrees, and it was a day race on a big track so there ya go. I remember it was kinda dusty, and Bill Frye hit a guy who tried to pull into the pits. Lapped cars held up Kevin Claycomb real bad IIRC. Flagman was not very good. People stroked him over real good during and after the race, and my wife was one of them LOL. It was also hot at the Million. People were dropping like flies, but it was nothing to folks from Arkansas.

We passed by Tri-State Speedway that night. They were hot lapping. We didn't have a motel room yet so we didn't stop. I hate we didn't!
