Born Free 40 for MARS Super Late Models Goes at Brownstown Speedway July 7

SOMERSET, KY – July 1, 2018 – The MARS Super Late Model Racing Series is set to return to action with the first of two visits in 2018 to the historic Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN, located at the famed Jackson County Fairgrounds, for the Fourth Annual Born Free 40, which will see the Super Late Model victor drive away with $5,000 for their efforts.

The MARS Super Late Model Racing Series will be in action at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Ind. on Saturday July 7 for the track’s Fourth Annual Born Free 40 event, which will see the MARS Super Late Model Racing Series competitors race for $5,000-to-win in the Fourth Annual Born Free 40 main event. In addition to the MARS Super Late Model Racing Series being in competition at Brownstown Speedway on Saturday July 7, the track’s Indiana Pro Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Super Stocks, and Pure Stocks will also be in action. The pit area and general admission will open at 3:00 p.m., with driver registration taking place from 3:00 p.m. until 5:15 p.m., with the driver’s meeting set for 5:30 p.m., with practice laps set for 6:00 p.m., followed by time trials and green flag racing. Ticket prices at Brownstown Speedway on Saturday July 7 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will be an additional $15 at the pit gate.

The Super Late Model portion of the program will be sanctioned by the MARS Super Late Model Racing Series. The entry fee will be $100, plus transponder rental for timing/scoring purposes. The Super Late Model tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 on the left front, right front, and left rear and 1350, 1600, and LM40 on right rear (crate 21 is also legal). Random tire samples will be taken by the series. Drivers not making the feature event will receive $50 tow money.

This will be the fourth edition of the Born Free 40 at Brownstown Speedway. Dustin Linville of Bryantsville, Ky. won the inaugural event back in 2015, with Devin Gilpin of Columbus, Ind. winning the second edition of the race in the 2016 contest. Gilpin would also be victorious in the most recent Born Free 40 event in 2017, taking the win over Michael Chilton, Tanner English, Cody Mahoney, and Jason Jameson.
