Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns to Smoky Mountain Speedway on July 7

Maryville, Tennessee - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns to Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday, July 9 for the 5th annual Mountain Moonshine Classic presented by NAPA Auto Parts. The $12,000 to win program will draw some of the sport's biggest stars for this one night event.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series program will consist of time trials, heat races, B-main races, and the 50-lap A-main for $12,000.

Jonathan Davenport leads a stacked group of drivers into Smoky Mountain Speedway as the series' points leader. Scott Bloomquist and defending series champion Josh Richards is just behind Davenport in the series standings. Earl Pearson Jr., Bobby Pierce, Tim McCreadie, Hudson O'Neal, Don O'Neal, defending race winner Jimmy Owens, Darrell Lanigan, Gregg Satterlee, Dennis Erb Jr., and rookie contenders Kyle Bronson and Mason Zeigler are all expected for this event. Regional favorites Dale McDowell, Casey Roberts, Tommy Kerr, Shanon Buckingham, Vic Hill, Stacy Boles, Robby Moses, Michael Chilton, Dakotah Knuckles, and more are also expected.

The UCRA crate late models will make their first appearance of the season at Smoky Mountain Speedway for a $2,000 to win race. The UCRA 602 Sportsman division will make their first visit for a $1,000 to win race. The Kajun Mini Stocks will also be on hand for a $1,200 to win race.

Pit gates open at 12:00. Grandstand and tier parking gates open at 3:00. The driver's meeting is set for 7:00 followed by hot laps and qualifying at 7:30.

Grandstand tickets are $30 for adults, kids 6-11 are $5, and kids 5 and under are free. Tier parking tickets are $35 for adults, kids 6-11 are $10, and kids 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $40 for adults, kids 11 and under are $15. Minors 18 and under must submit a Minor Release and Waiver of Liability form signed by parent/legal guardian. If form is not signed in the presence of an Smoky Mountain Speedway official, it must be notarized. The form can be downloaded from the track's web site at www.SmokyMountainSpeedway.com.

Chairs will only be allowed on the concrete areas of the grandstands. Small seatbacks and cushions are permitted elsewhere. We ask that fans that are using large chairs use the top rows to prevent blocking others view. Anyone wanting a seat on the concrete bleachers are asked to get to the track early. The grandstands can withhold large crowds, however, seating may become limited.

Smoky Mountain Speedway is located 12 miles south of Maryville, Tennessee. From Maryville, take Highway 411 south for 10 miles and turn left onto Brick Mill Road. Follow Brick Mill Road for approximately 2 miles, the racetrack is on the right. The first entrance is for grandstand parking. The second entrance is for tier parking and campground access. The pit entrance is the next right on Crye Road.
