Car looks badass! He was running in the front
with the first and second place cars when the car cut out on him. They said that the battery went bad before the feature on FB and I guess he didn't have a backup with him. Good to see after 2.5 years he still has it.

I’m as stoked as I’ve been in a long time about a driver making a comeback

He spun out on lap 19 running third, and then pulled off.

even though a lot of people gave up on him , maybe even himself , after the crash , I had a pretty good feeling we hadn't seen the end of his career , just needed some time to heal , both physically and mentally......

Never knew anyone gave up on him... It was my understanding he got a concussion in a crash, I believe at EAMS, rolling the car several times. After which, HE chose to retire from driving. Ironically he was using all the safety equipment later mandated by the, "all knowing" late model council. Seems like Brian Shirley had a similar crash the same season with the same level of safety equipment and got the same injury. Hmmm? Glad Randy is back behind the wheel, if he wants to be.

This is true. He was really bad for a while. Couldn't be around loud noises or bright light because of the concussion.

Makes me wonder if some of the team frustrations were caused by Randy knowing he was ready to drive again and feeling like he could do it better

That wasn't the case. Randy really had no desire to ever get back in a car if you talked to him, it almost sounded like it scared him to think about it. The day it was said he would driving his sons crate car really blew my mind. I never expected him to get back in a car ever again.

You think maybe he ran the crate as sort of a feeler first to see how it would go?

That was my thoughts exactly. I feel like he ran that crate race as a test to see if his body was healed up enough to get back in a car. I think that he just felt disrespected by Overton and wanted to prove that there was nothing wrong with his equipment. If not for that, I doub't he would have ever gotten back in the car. I think that situation kind of forced his hand. Best of luck Dream Weaver! You have a lot of fans that have been missing you in that car.

I thought Overton left was because of money, heard whoever handled the money was slow about paying an wanted to hold off paying after the team got it

How could Randy feel disrespected by Overton? If anything he should be thankful for the caliber driver he had. He won more money in a single year than Randy has ever won in a single year. With saying that, that helped Randy sale more cars. I noticed towards the lighter part of last year Randy was absent from alot of races Brandon was running. To me I think it got to Randy that the Dream team was no longer about Randy but instead about Overton. This year you could tell there were alot less emphasis put on the cars Overton was driving and more being put on other customers cars which I can understand with trying to run a business. In saying all of this I think it really got to Randy that the spotlight was no longer on him. I also heard the same thing dirty bert heard that the money was slow coming in so that could be a reason most of the team has split.

Most likely, but I bet the first night he runs on a rough track or even a less than smooth track and his head starts ping-ponging in the headrest, he may change his mind. Mandatory FC's are dangerous in and of themselves.

I talked to Randy for a few minutes after the race. He said he didn't want to take a driver from another team in the middle of the year. He said he's running just a few races here and there.

Leads me to believe he has somebody picked out for the ride already.

No doubt it's a decent ride but if they having trouble paying bills I think Weaver better drive it that cuts out some expense.
