CARTERSVILLE, GA – The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series is scheduled to compete in a pair of races in South Georgia this weekend, the stomping grounds of the series Title Sponsor Durrence Layne Chevrolet, Buick, GMC based out of Claxton, GA. Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Savannah, GA is on Friday night and Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA is on Saturday night.
The Friday night race at Oglethorpe Speedway Park will be a $2,000-to-win 40-lap event. The second race at Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA on Saturday night pays $4,000-to-win and will go for 60 laps.
Drivers from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Indiana are expected for Rounds 9 and 10 of the 2018 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series season. Wil Herrington, a local hero from Cochran, GA and Jimmy Thomas of Phenix City, AL won Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series RockAuto.com Winter Shootout Series races in March of this year at Cochran Motor Speedway.
