CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 17 of the 27-week 2018 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season will have 11 races in five different states that include Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida on its Schedule of Events with one Friday night race, and the rest on Saturday night.

The lone Friday night event for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model and the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Divisions will be at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS.

` All four Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Divisions will compete at three different tracks on Saturday night. Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, North Alabama Speedway, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will each feature the Late Models, Street Stocks, Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsmen, and the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsmen.

Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series drivers compete with each other through a point system that awards 50 points to win with a field of eight or more cars. It drops back one point per position down to 41 points for tenth on back.

A driver’s best event point total for each week are recorded, and equal or lower point races for that week are discarded. A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count towards their season total. Ties in points will be broken by number of wins, and if needed will be broken by second place finishes and so on.

Fields that are seven or less award 40 points to win and drop back one point per position through seventh. Drivers that attempt to compete, but fail to start the main event are awarded 25 points.

Drivers in all four Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Divisions that have reached the 14-week mark of their respective seasons will be trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly point total with a higher one.
