Second annual Dylan Kennedy Memorial at Wartburg Speedway August 4

Wartburg, Tennessee - Wartburg Speedway hosts the 2nd annual Dylan Kennedy Memorial this Saturday, August 4. The $3,700 to win race for the steel head late models is the biggest event of the year at the 1/4-mile bullring.
The race is named in honor of Dylan Kennedy, brother of late model driver Drew Kennedy, who passed away on July 26, 2016. The Kennedy family has worked with Wartburg Speedway to put on this event the last two seasons.
Many of the area's top steelhead and crate late model drivers are expected to enter into this event. Defending winner Anthony White, Mike Weeks, Drew Kennedy, Jason Cardwell, and many others are expected to enter.
There are a number of contingency prizes and extra purse money available in addition to the $3,700 for the race winner. The fast qualifier will get $370. Each heat race winner will also receive $370. There will be a Fast Car Dash for the top 6 qualifiers that will pay $370 to the winner. Also, a $100 bonus will be paid to the 3rd place and 7th place finishers. A barrel of racing fuel will be awarded to the hard charger of the race, the driver that can advance the most positions in the 37-lap race. There is no entry fee.
Wartburg Speedway rules apply. Rear tires must be 1600. Crate engines and 525 engines are permitted.
Also racing will be sportsman late models for $637 to win. Thunder, street stocks, mod minis, pony, and front wheel drive will each be racing for $370 to win.
All gates open at 4:00. The driver's meeting is scheduled for 7:30 followed by racing action.
General admission tickets are $10 fro adults, kids 7-12 are $5, and kids 6 and under are free. Tier parking is $20 for adults, kids 7-12 are $10, and kids 6 and under are free. Pit passes are $30 for adults, kids 7-12 are $15.
