MARS Super Late Model Racing Series at FALS for 4th Annual FALS Frenzy Saturday August 11
SOMERSET, KENTUCKY – August 5, 2018 – The MARS Super Late Model Racing Series will visit Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, IL on Saturday August 11 for the track’s 4th Annual FALS Frenzy that will pay $10,000 to win and $500 to start. The event will be co-sanctioned by the Sunoco American Late Model Series. This event was originally scheduled back on May 12 but fell victim to inclement weather.
The FALS Frenzy event is the second event of a two-day weekend of action in the Land of Lincoln for the MARS Super Late Model Racing Series, as the tour will visit Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, IL on Friday August 10 for the Russ Wallace Memorial that will pay $5,000 to win.
The MARS Super Late Model Racing Series, along with the Sunoco American Late Model Series, will visit Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway on Saturday August 11 for the 4th Annual FALS Frenzy, with the event paying $10,000 to win and $500 to start. Other divisions in competition at FALS on Saturday August 11 will be the track’s UMP Modifieds ($2,000 to win) and UMP Sportsman ($400 to win). Activities at FALS on Saturday August 11 will see the gates open at Noon, with the drivers meeting at 5:30 p.m. and practice laps set to begin at 6:00 p.m., with racing at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the 4th Annual FALS Frenzy event in the general admission area will be $25 for adults, while a pit pass will be $40.
The tire rule for this event at Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway is as follows: Hoosier LM 20 and LM30 on the right front, left front and left rear. The Hoosier LM30 and LM40 may be used as a right rear option only. Grooving and siping is allowed. Random tire samples will be taken by the series. The entry fee will be $100 for this event and tow money for any driver not making the main event starting field will be $100.
Kevin Weaver of Gibson City IL would lay claim to victory in the first-ever FALS Frenzy event in 2015, while Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, IL would score the victory in the 2016 contest. Dennis Erb, Jr. of Carpentersville, IL would be victorious in the 2017 FALS Frenzy event, taking the victory over Chase Junghans, Ryan Unzicker, Don O’Neal, and Chris Ferguson.
