CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 21 of the 27-week 2018 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series will feature 14 Races in six difference states that include Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida and Nebraska. The Top 10 Points Fund Paying spots in the National point standings are beginning to take shape in the stretch drive of the season.

There will be four races on Friday night, nine races on Saturday night, and one race on Sunday night. Each year at this point of the season, a driver comes from “out of nowhere” and into championship contention under the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series points system that takes a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals as their National points total.

Drivers that have reached the 14-week point of their season are trying to net points by replacing the lowest of their best 14 with a higher one. Drivers that are still earning full points, trying to reach their 14th week, can gain positions in the point standings in a hurry.

There will be 12 races in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division, ten races in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division, five races in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division and three races in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 21 competition.

The main focus of Week 21 will be the 6th Annual Durrence Layne Performance Parts Southern Street Stock Nationals at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS this Friday and Saturday night. While the $3,000-to-win Street Stock race and the $2,000-to-win Late Model Sportsman race on Saturday night will be non-points races, the Late Models will race on Saturday night for $1,000-to-win and that will be a points race.

On Friday night at Whynot Motorsports Park, the Late Models, Street Stocks and the Late Model Sportsman Divisions will compete for Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 21 National points.

Moulton Speedway in Danville, AL will host the Late Models, Street Stock, and Late Model Sportsman Divisions on Friday night. Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Savannah, GA will present the Late Models on Friday night, and Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA has the Street Stocks in action on Friday night.

Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will each host all four Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Divisions on Saturday night with the Late Models, Street Stocks, Late Model Sportsman, and Modified Sportsman Divisions in action.

Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS will have the Late Models and the Street Stocks in action this Saturday night. His point total includes ten 50-point wins. Two more 50-point wins would bring his total to 697 points, three points away from a perfect season.

Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, MS has reached the “Perfect Score” of 700 points based on 14 50-point wins in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division. Idom will now be trying to gain more wins in case another driver can reach the 700 point mark over the next eight weeks of competition. Idom has 15 wins in 19 races and the clock is ticking on the competition.

Idom is biding his time, as his competitors’ window of opportunities close in the coming weeks. Haddon has seven 50-point wins.

Hayden Duncan of Leighton, AL leads the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman standings with a best 14 week total of 694 points, and he will be trying to net on a 47.
