Why not Webb or Skylar Marlar? Or the eastern Ky guys that usually show up like Combs and Breeding? Is Victor Lee still racing a late model?

bleedsbluer2

Webb, mike and skylar marlar should be there then you have davenport, bloomquist, richards, owens, satterlee, zeig ler,d oneal, lanigan, erb, mccreadie, pierce plus chilton and jameson 16 drivers so far may not have to worry about giving provisionals out and victor lee is not racing this year

Victor Lee debuted in a new swartz with vic hill power tonight. #1x. He will definitely be there. There will be no shortage of cars. Eric Wells runs really good there, as well as Dohm, Boggs. Bleedsbuler listed some good names too.

I just don't like the rule. Dock points for being late, but you're essentially taking it out on the fans that paid hard earned money to come support your series. They come to watch ALL the big dogs, no matter if it's Bloomquist, Davenport, Richards, Pierce, etc....putting any of these guys in their hauler is not giving the fans their money's worth. Then on top of that they watch a 25-30 lap main. Just not good business IMO

I didn't think the rain was any worse under the last caution then it was during the caution when T-Mac got hooked up with Overton. Felt like more of a mist than anything. But I don't think it had anything to do with Davenport, he wasn't a factor he was just maintaining the same general position he started in

Judging by the cheers, I'd say a majority of the fans were glad he didn't make the race.
I was at the North/South for the first time since moving to Georgia 5 years ago. Before that, I'd attended most of the big shows at Florence and everything else within a 3 or 4 hour drive from Lexington since the 80s. What I've noticed lately is, most of the Bloomquist fans have disappeared. I think they are finally accepting what he is.

To me it seems like a terrible by Lucas Oil to end the race 20 laps earlier. Track wasn't slick at all, soon as the late models went off the track the crate late models come out giving thumbs up and run a great race. They didn't even try to get the rest of the race in.

The call was made ONLY AFTER Lucas asked the drivers to give thumbs up or down to continue and it was an overwhelming thumbs down. I understand that, but two of the front drivers had flat tires, so of course they are thumbs down, but I don't understand why they even ask the drivers? It was obvious that track was fine. It wasn't even raining enough for fans to get out of their seats. Then 5 minutes later the rain stopped and less talented drivers when out on the same track and gave thumbs up and put on a great race!

I completely agree. I said I'm not taking up for Bloomquist. It has nothing to do with what driver it is. I'm taking up for the fans of the sport....a lot of fans of the sport don't have the money to travel from state to state chasing Lucas or WOO. They wait until they come to their home track. They wait all year for Lucas to come then the night they show up the one of the biggest draws in the series isn't allowed to race? On top of that the Series shortens the race by almost 1/2. There is a good chance they may never come back.....like I said earlier. A lot of people need to look at the big picture to this. Fine the driver money, dock him points, or come up with another penalty, but let him use the provisional because drivers not in the show is not good for the sport.

I don't think they WANTED him to not race last night. IMO it was the last thing they wanted, but at some point they had to draw the line.
I honestly think in this case (and many others) the driver feels he is bigger than the sport and that the rules will be overlooked for the very reason you mention (the FANS). Scott's late arrival has been an issue for quite some time now. Lucas has the job of making and enforcing rules. In this case they want all the drivers there by a certain time. Do you think a point penalty or a dock in pay would get Scott there on time? In a way, that has happened quite a few times because when he shows up late his performance lacks (less points & money) and that hasn't stopped him from arriving late. Also, let's not forget, the series gives them one freebie on this rule so Scott has used that up also.
I do not know what it is that prevents Scott from showing up on time, but I have to side with Lucas on this one because I think we are on the same page. Just show up on time and all is good.

I understand what you're saying but, for this year Bloomer know's the rule so, maybe you should be more mad at him and not lucas. He's had all week to get to the track and on time. I would say he has been there before so, knows how long it takest o get their on time, but, Will give him a pass if he had some kind of transportation problem while en route but, if not then it's on him.

I can absolutely see the big picture, and I’m not a Bloomquist “hater”. Your idea that this incident will have a significant impact on future races is absurd. There are hundreds of races that are run each year without Bloomquist in attendance that do perfectly well at the gate. You talk about seeing the big picture, but you miss it completely.

Bloomquist probably shouldn't follow a series at this point of his career. Then he can just show up whenever he feels he wants to race. I think Scott hates showing up to places that he doesnt enjoy racing at, which is more reason not to follow a series but also why pass up the free money. As much as he messes around, his talent alone will always have him finish in the top 3 in Lucas points and thats a nice end of the year check. As a Bloomquist fan you cant complain about anything. He's the only driver to win every single major. The only driver to do it, and hes won them all multiple times, most 5 or more times. He's won the most major races at Eldora and the most national touring series. Look at the drivers he started racing against. He's outlasted them all. Moyer and Lanigan are still around but not nearly as competitive. For a "down" year like he's having he still won the Dream for a record 8th time and the Show Me 100. LOL. Im just glad to be able to watch him race still. Just like Moyer, even though hes not the great Moyer of the 90s its still fun to see him at the track. Scott's main focus before leaving the shop is to get the World 100 car ready to go.

How about the other side of the coin fans that don’t want wait around because one drive holding up the event. Some people don’t care if one the biggest draw makes it or not. Most locals would rather see someone like Eddie win it than Scott or another big drawing name. People cry way to much when big national tour name don’t make the show or don’t show up.

According to Lucas RULES, the zero was not eligible for a provisional. Notice I said Rules. 4m opinions on this hold no water. Lucas also determined whether the race would continue. RULES. The track had nothing to do with it. Eddie Carrier won!!!! Congrats!!!!

Cancelling early had nothing to do with the rain but all to do with the fact that they had everyones hard earned money and a good opportunity for an early exit. What a crock of bull, guarantee you that Lucas lost many people that would of been at other races for sure by the time they dropped the checkered flag the track was calling the crates out to race and finished all classes so you tell me was it the rain?
