Ponderosa Speedway Cancels Fall Classic Weekend Due to World 100 Postponement

JUNCTION CITY, KY (September 7, 2018)—Ponderosa Speedway located in Junction City, Ky. has cancelled the Fall Classic weekend scheduled for October 11, 12 & 13 due to the postponement of this weekend’s World 100 to that date.

A makeup date was looked for but with series conflicting dates and other events in the area in the coming weeks, the track didn’t want to run on top of anyone else and has elected to cancel that weekend and allow for folks to enjoy the biggest event in dirt track racing the World 100.

“We regretfully have to cancel the final event but with no other suitable dates available between now and when it turns cold, we had no other decision but to cancel and start work for 2019,” stated promoter Chris Tilley. “We had the largest track attendance for the John Bradshaw Memorial on August 31st and had a great racing surface all season and we’re looking forward to running the Fall Classic and ending with a bang but the weather has hampered us as well as other tracks all season. We didn’t get to race as much as we wanted to this season but after getting the track in February we was behind the 8-ball all year,” said Tilley again.

With the cancellation of the MARS/Southern Nationals Bonus Series event, that weekend will move to another venue and date which will be announced by the series ASAP.

This will conclude the 2018 season for Ponderosa Speedway. Track owners Sharon and Mark Naylor along with promoter Chris Tilley would like to thank all of the race fans, drivers, race teams and sponsors for their overwhelming support of the 46th season of dirt track racing at Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring. The 2019 season schedule will be put together this winter and all information can be found by logging on to www.PonderosaSpeedway.net or call (859) 854-6808.
