“Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial for Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Model Series Goes at Richmond Raceway Saturday September 15

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY – September 8, 2018 – The Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series presented by DirtonDirt.com will visit Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY on Saturday September 15 for the 31st Annual Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial, with $10,059 up for grabs to the winner of this storied Central Kentucky contest.

The Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series presented by DirtonDirt.com will sanction the 31st Annual Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge event at Richmond Raceway on Saturday September 15, with the main event for the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series competitors paying $10,059 to win and $500 to start. Other divisions in competition at Richmond Raceway on Saturday September 15 for the “Butterball” event will include the track’s Open Wheel Modifieds racing for $1,059 to win, Super Stocks racing for $759 to win, and Four Cylinders racing for $559 to win. Activities at Richmond Raceway on Saturday September 15 for the 31st Annual Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial event will see the pit area open at 2:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 4:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m., while practice laps will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing action. Ticket prices for the “Butterball” event at Richmond Raceway on Saturday September 15 in the general admission area will be $25 for adults, while children age ten and under are free, while a pit pass will be $45 for adults, $20 for children ages 6 to 12, with children ages five and under free.

The tire rule for this event at Richmond Raceway is as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600, along with the American Racer 48 and 56 on all four corners of the race cars. Random tire samples will be taken by the series. The entry fee for this event will be $100, plus transponder rental for timing and scoring purposes. Drivers not making the feature event will receive $50 tow money. This event was originally scheduled for August 18, but heavy afternoon rains at the track forced the event’s postponement to its new date of Saturday September 15.

Freddie Carpenter of Parkersburg, WV would be victorious in the 2017 edition of the “Butterball” event.
