Bonus Series, Iron-Man Series, and MARS Series Trifecta Now at Lake Cumberland Speedway October 5, October 6
SOMERSET, KENTUCKY – September 8, 2018 – The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series, Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series, and MARS Super Late Model Racing Series would like to announce an addition and change to their schedules that will take place at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY on Friday October 5, with $3,000 to win, and Saturday October 6, with $5,000 to win, to make for a doubleheader Lake Cumberland Classic weekend.
The trio of series will be in action on Friday October 5 at Lake Cumberland Speedway with $3,000 up for grabs to the winner of the opening night of the Lake Cumberland Classic weekend, with support divisions to be announced. The weekend concludes on Saturday October 6 at Lake Cumberland Speedway, with the winner of the Lake Cumberland Classic claiming $5,000 for their efforts. Support divisions for each night, along with times and admission prices will be announced in an upcoming press release concerning the event.
The event will also mark championship weekend for the MARS Super Late Model Racing Series with the tour’s 2018 champion being crowned after the conclusion of the Saturday night racing program, while the event will mark the second appearance of 2018 for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series, and the fifth appearance of 2018 for the Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series.
Lake Cumberland Speedway was already scheduled to host the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series on Saturday October 6, but with the cancellation of Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series and MARS Super Late Model Racing Series at another nearby racing venue, an agreement was reached among all parties involved to host all three series for the event, which should make for a great weekend of racing action. In addition, the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series is also scheduled to be action during the weekend, with the tour in action on Saturday October 6 for $1,000 to win.
