Racing at Raceway 7, Conneaut Ohio next Saturday. They haven't run super lates in a long time. 1300 or harder tire rule. I don't really know how abrasive the track is or can be. For qualifying and heats, I plan 1300s all the way around. Thoughts on grooving/siping for the rear tires?

For the feature, how do I know if I should run 1300 or 1325 tires on the right side? I have brand new 1325s for RF and RR I can use, or 1300s that have a few nights on them. Do I just walk around the pits and see what everyone else is doing?

1350 is a hard tire to beat, don't know the track but if it is sandy or brown dirt softer may work, but a 1350 cut correct is about the best tire i know of, hope that helps

grt74, you must be from the south. Save for a few rare instances we never run a 1350 up here. I guarantee you that race will be won on at least 1 1325, probably 3 of them.

If track stays brown stay on 1300, if it starts getting black slick start putting 1325 on

Interesting. Eriez guys regularly run 1325RR and occasionally 1325 RF, depending on the track conditions. 1300s on the left. I'm not sure how many laps this race is going to be but I'm guessing 30. Guess I will just wait and see what the track does.

Sometimes tires and the dirt will surprise you. While on the southern nationals tour years ago (tracks I never been too), I would have sworn a 1300 on the RR would never make 50 laps but everyone said it would so we went with it and they was correct. Really depends on the dirt, but I can tell you this: A 1300 doesn't like the black as it tends to spin when it hits it on the exit of the corner and are generally better off with a 1350 if there is a fair amount of black and you have to go across it a fair amount. But if not much black the 1300 is fine.

No experience with the 1325 at all. Usually if there is a tire truck there, you can ask the tire guy what works there as they usually know what you can get away with.
