Dennis Erb, Jr. Lands in Top Ten in Daytime Pittsburgher 100; Eldora Ahead

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The penultimate Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event of 2018 took place from October 5-7 at the sprawling Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pennsylvania, as the 30th Annual 'Pittsburgher 100' drew 32 entrants to vie for the $20,000 top prize. On Friday night during preliminary action, Dennis Erb, Jr. wheeled his #28 XR1 Rocket Chassis to the fourth fastest lap in Group B during qualifying prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his stacked heat race.

After Saturday was washed out, Dennis rolled off from the outside of the sixth row on Sunday in the 100-lap headliner at the monster 1/2-mile speedplant. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then vaulted up inside of the top ten on a couple of different occasions before eventually landing in the ninth finishing position. Dennis now sits tied for eleventh in the latest LOLMDS point standings exiting PPMS. Complete results from the 'Pittsburgher 100' weekend can be obtained online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Dennis Erb Racing will now make a return trip to the hallowed high-banks of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on October 12-13 for the remainder of the 48th edition of the fabled ‘World 100.’ Dennis finished eleventh in his Twin 25 back on Thursday, September 6 before inclement weather postponed the final two nights of racing action at the “Big E.” Things will pick up right where they left off on Friday, October 12 with a pair of Twin 25s – each of which will boast a $10,000 payday. Combined points from the two prelim nights will set the lineup for Saturday’s traditional six heat races.

Following the heat races on Saturday, October 13 at the 1/2-mile oval, two consolation races will finalize the starting field for the 48th Annual ‘World 100.’ A large crowd is expected to file into Eldora Speedway to witness the 100-lap crown jewel spectacular, which is set to pay a hefty $51,000 to the winner. Dennis has transferred into ten ‘World 100’ headliners throughout his career with his best finish of second coming in 2016 behind only victor Bobby Pierce.
