Jimmy Mars Completes 2018 Racing Season in World 100 at Eldora Speedway

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Over a month removed from the original 'World 100' date, the completion of the rain-postponed crown jewel spectacular took place on October 12-13 at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Action was scheduled to start on Friday evening at the "Big E" with a pair of $10,000 to win Twin 25s, but additional inclement weather pushed back the preliminary program to Saturday afternoon. Jimmy Mars placed seventh in his loaded heat race prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his B-Main. Jimmy then started twenty-first on the grid in his 25-lap main event, but was eventually forced to settle for a twenty-third place performance.

Following a several hour break to clear the grandstands and rework the racetrack, the nighttime portion of the day/night doubleheader took place on Saturday evening and all eyes were focused on capturing the $51,000 top prize in the 48th edition of the 'World 100.' Jimmy advanced up to fourth in his stacked heat race and later finished third in his B-Main. After rolling off from the inside of the thirteenth row in the 100-lap headliner, the Menomonie, Wisconsin star retired after 83 circuits with rear end issues on his #28 mount. Jimmy was relegated to another twenty-third place effort on the day in the "Biggest Dirt Race in the World." Complete results from the 2018 season finale at Eldora Speedway can be located online by visiting www.eldoraspeedway.com.

Now that the 2018 campaign is complete for Mars Racing, they can look back on what was a strong season that included seven (7) wins, eighteen (18) top fives, and twenty-nine (29) top tens in the forty-eight (48) races that they entered. Jimmy’s biggest victory of the year came back on August 17 when he picked up the $5,555 triumph in the ‘Duane Mahder Memorial’ at the nearby Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wisconsin. In a year that he was inducted into the Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame, Jimmy also transferred into several marquee crown jewel headliners including the ‘Show-Me 100,’ the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream,’ the ‘USA Nationals,’ the ‘North/South 100,’ the ‘Knoxville Late Model Nationals,’ and the ‘World 100.’ You can view all of his finishes by logging onto www.JimmyMarsRacing.com.
