They got the 410 sprints in. Justin Grant smoked them, then flew out to the PAS and dusted them too. Tonight he rolls into Wayne City for the J Leffler Memorial.

Way better than restartifieds (modifieds). That class is one of the worst and they are spending just as much as late models with half the pay.

Sprints are cool and fast and all that, but can get boring with red flag, push start many times in a night. Wilmot Raceway was a foul weather alternate back when they boasted the nations highest weekly average for Winged Sprints. They had 35 a week average back in the day. But long nights with flip stoppage got tiring. Rather just stay home after a while.

When it comes to sprint cars if the track has thier chit together they can get 20 cars refired and lined up in no time.

Sprint car tracks tend to have enough push trucks that it doesn’t take long at all to get em restarted in a minute or two in my experiences.

I agree with everything except [spending just as much]. They're not there yet, but they're trying.

Johnson’s years of experience on a track that takes rubber (Brownstown) probably came in handy when Kokomo took rubber and locked down yesterday. Good to see him back and in what appears to be a pretty good ride.

Tracks that are well organized and seasoned in running efficient open wheel shows have no problem with continuity. Those tracks successfully debunk the myth of pushing racecars to start them impedes the progression of the show. Tracks like Kokomo, IN, Perris, CA and the The Chili Bowl have it down to a science. In recent years there have been as high as 90 cars per night on the 4 Chili Bowl prelim nights, soon to be 5, and the fact each of those 90 cars are pushed to be started at least once, some as many as 4 or 5 times during the course of the evening, is hardly noticeable.

Other tracks, not so much, as is the case at Fairbury. It seems to take an interminable length of time to get even an 8 car heat race pushed off. The July WoO Sprint Car race at FALS was a prime example of how disorganization can turn people off. It's not the fault of the cars and how they're started but instead the lack of organization.

The worst we saw this past season was at Champaign, IL for the WAR Sprint Car show at the fairgrounds during the Champaign County Fair. The guys operating the push trucks were inexperienced and it showed. Glaringly. It was not totally their fault given that they only do that deal once a year but Casey Shuman, who runs the WAR series publicly apologized, nonetheless.

Bottom line is if it's done correctly there is no real grounds for complaint, unless of course you have a preconceived bias or an ax to grind.
