just a reminder to folks that winterizing you engine is much better done sooner rather than later especially in the colder states
many times our last night of competition is on a cold damp night which multiplies the corrosion factor that will happen without proper storage techniques
Don't wait until it gets colder outside ---do it now!
here is a link to our recommendations to winterizing your engine.

although the freeze and cracking of blocks is a huge consideration it's not the only issue.
cylinder walls quickly and easily get a coat of surface rust on them
once this happens the first stroke of the piston absolutely kills the top ring
at this point the engine will not perform at it's peak any longer

I can't tell you how many times I have heard ---
"It ran great the last race of the year but now it seems to be down on power"
this is especially true when the last race of the rear was cold and damp (like most are in the fall)

frozen blocks drives any engine builder insane but don't forget to lube up them walls also
