This would seem to be a good thing. Curl seems to have a very good reputation.

Hopefully there won't be anymore crap like what went on with the Sprint Mania fiasco. Some very good people got screwed over in that deal and FALS boldface lied to the competitors and the fans. Hopefully the new owners run the place with a bit more integrity than the previous owners.

Don't know all that much about the new owners. We'll reserve any opinions 'till after they've had control of the place for a couple of years.

Wonder who takes over running WoOLMS now

The series press release says Curl is staying in place with WoO.

Wasn't a lot of time/labor donated to the track in the past? I wonder if Mr. Curl will have to cover this going forward?

There are two press releases (WoOLMS and FALS) and both read differently. You may want to read them both before commenting.

The WoO press release reads (in my opinion) as through Curl will remain as the Series Director.

The Fairbury press release reads as though Curl will depart the position as WoO Race Director:

"He (Curl) left Fairbury to become the series director of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series in 2018 BUT RELUCTANTLY WILL DEPART THAT POSITION IN THE FUTURE after having a golden opportunity materialize at the speedway he loves so much."
-Fairbury Press Release

Neither specifically addresses if he is staying and will do a dual-role with WoO and FALS (WoO press release) or if he is indeed leaving and when (Fairbury press release). Maybe that is intentional as WoO and Curl work out the details but wanted to get out a release before "word hit the street" of Curl's majority ownership and becoming promoter of FALS.

Regardless - the WoO Race Director has a lot of work preparing for the coming 2019 season with schedule and a driver line-up. And with that, so does the FALS owner/promoter with preparing for the coming season.

Good luck to all involved.

Respectfully,

I believe that Matt is staying "through the winter" focusing on getting the 2019 season set thus giving WRG the opportunity to find a suitable replacement.

Sounds like a big mess. Apparently the Legion got rid of everyone on the Fair Board. People don’t sound happy. It will be interesting to see how many people stick around and volunteer after this. I’m guessing Matt will have a hard time finding workers.

Actually it was turning into a big mess.
The people running the show had no clue...
People should be thankful Matt is coming home.
Curl will not only turn it back in the right direction, he will be a major part of making FALS excel and continue to grow.
Expect more announcements about 2019 at PRI in Indy.
