Older car with a 3" sweet rack, with .220 servo remotely mounted up by the firewall. Just bought 4" Sweet rack, with integrated servo. Can the integrated servo be removed so I can run the remote servo I already have, or do I have to build a new steering shaft to work with the integrated servo rack?

My answer is to use the integrated R&P as a whole.

I'm not extremely well versed in the individual components, but I believe the pinion is different in the integrated unit, meaning if you remove the servo you'll see it's a hex-head design at the pinion and not splined (you can't affix a steering coupler to it).

Also much better setup all around less lines further away from header. But steering shafts are frequently over looked and actually do not hold up nearly as well as most would think. I would say 2 out of 3 cars i work on usually have a bad or questionable steering shaft joint. So while it cost a few bucks not a bad idea to make a new one
