Expressing my deepest condolences to Ms Mona, Josh and the entire King family with Mr Jerry's passing. They have been so kind and generous to the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame and all of it's inductees. Mr. King will certainly be missed.

My heartfelt condolences to the King family on the passing of Jerry. And at the same time a thank you to the Kings for coming in years ago and taking a chance on being track owners/promoters . Without the willingness and risk the Kings took years ago we may have not had a Crown Jewel track still sitting a few miles outside of Florence Ky.. With the Kings in place to operate the track and the hard work of the late Preston Sandlin working the track surface they together polished this track into the jewel it has come to be ..This track like so many could have been pushed over and become a housing complex or something else but with the Kings dedication they had built Florence Speedway into what it is today. ....and again I say thank you R.I.P. Jerry King

Sad to hear of Mr. King’s passing. They have built a nice operation at Florence. I enjoy going there.

Hopefully Josh and the rest of the King family can carry on what Jerry started. RIP Jerry King.

Sad to hear about this also. Prayers and best wishes to the entire King family and close friends. I will miss seeing him at the track and in the water truck and packing truck. We had a really nice visit in the King's double wide at the track entrance gate one time. It's hard to believe.

So sorry for the King family. They have put so much effort into the track, all for us race fans and competitors. Can't imagine all the hours they have put in as a family. RIP Mr. King.

thoughts and prayers to the mona, josh and the whole king family. I met jerry back in the early 80's. the only time I ever got to talk to him was at the track a few times a year. he would stop and say hi and always made me feel like we were old friends. he was a hard working man and a success at a lot of things. way to young to be gone now.

I was wondering if they planned on having a Memorial race for him this year. Maybe even making it an annual event. That would be nice. Something to consider for sure....

I would say that is very probable and appropriate. No reason not to.

Maybe add his name to the North/South 100. That would be fitting.

Yep, he created that race starting in 1984. Jerry King's N/S 100 coming in August

That don't sound like a memorial for him though.

Maybe the Spring or Fall 50 race gets renamed for him.

Those are good choices too, Kel. In my dealings with Jerry, I just know it was really clear how proud he was of the North/South. He will be memorialized in some way, obviously, but the N/S will always be an extension of him. He grew it from a good regional race with a generic name, to one of the top five must-see events in the country.
