View Full Version : Ice Bowl 28 Rings In 2019 For The Durrence Layne Late Model Winter Shootout

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The 28th Annual Ice Bowl at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will ring in the 2019 season with a $3,000-to-win opener for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series. The on track activity will begin on Thursday and run through Sunday.

The Ice Bowl race is also the opening event for the seven-race Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Winter Shootout. Three-time Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Champion Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN is the defending Ice Bowl Champion for the Durrence Layne Late Models.

The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Models can practice on Thursday and Friday. Saturday will see Qualifying and Heat Races to determine the front half of the Ice Bowl starting line-up. The B-Main Races and the $3,000-to-win Ice Bowl Main Event for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series will be held on Sunday.

Competitors are highly encouraged to complete their Registration and complete their 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series paperwork before Saturday to avoid long lines at the Registration Window. Competitors must have completed their Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection before their race car can roll on to the race track.

On Thursday, the Talladega Short Track Pit Gate opens at 9 a.m. Central Time. Practice time for all Divisions begins at 12 Noon and will continue until dusk. On Friday, the Pit Gate Opens at 9 a.m., and practice will conclude at 4:30 p.m.

Competition for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series begins on Saturday, and the Pit Gate opens at 8 a.m. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and Hot Laps begin at 10 a.m. with Qualifying and Heat Races to follow. On Sunday, the Pit Gate opens at 9a.m., with the Drivers Meeting set for 11 a.m. Consolation Races and Feature Races begin at 12 Noon.
