it is with a heavy heart i bring this news , a young man that i help with his engines and car , Johnathon Merritt , was in a terrible wreck yesterday and is in the hospital in a coma with brain injury , doc say,s next 72 hrs are critical but prognoses isn't good , he races in the hot shot division at TST and other tracks , he is full of life and loves dirt racing as much as any one i know , he is like one of my own children , all thats left is prayer , thank you............

So very sad, my only hope is that hes where he needed to be with his faith. If so hes in a much better place. Its a lesson to all of us. thanks every one for there thoughts and prayers , Johnathon was a organ donor so it takes a little time to get him ready , his funeral will be Wednesday , most everyone on here knows how i feel about east alabama speedway , but im gone suck it up and go to the national 100 next Sunday , they are gone have a memorial for Johnathon at the beginning of the race with a 5 wide salute and his car out front , where it was most of the time , I commend eams for this and i will be there , once again , thanks to you all , i know we dont personally know each other but i do appreciate you all ........
