I could not get off for the Duck and I’ve been to Smoky Mtn and wasn’t impressed. I’m hoping the new track configuration makes the racing better there and then I’ll go back. I’ve never been to Cochran and I do like hitting new tracks when they have a big event. So there you go... that race “does matters to me”. That’s what it’s all about. We all know what we like and want in our racing. And from that we form in our minds what matters and what doesn’t. ...and if people took that the wrong way, I don’t give a sh!t. And when it got run in the ground, “a race that does matter” “a track that does matter” “a place that matters” and all that, I decided I’ll name this racing season after it. And I think it’s pretty funny. ......and btw, I’ll be at TST Friday night after work. Why? Cause that event matters to me. January’s race does not.

Dirt Crow, you’re a good fan. If we were home, we’d be heading to Cochran tonight, but since we’re in Knoxville visiting the grandbabies, we’re going to check out the WOO show at Smoky Mountain. I hope you see a good one at Cochran. We’ve been there about a dozen times the last five years. Heat racing isn’t always the greatest, but by feature time the track slicks over and the racing can be fantastic.

One late arrival. 24 cars. Bailes overall fastest. Fergy fastest in group B.

The good - nice track, excellent grandstands and bathrooms, concession stand prices the way they should be. Coolers allowed. The not so good - already having an intermission, and the announcer got a little too carried away and excited for time trials. If it’s a great A Main he might not make it.

30 min intermission over. 24 cars, 4 heats. Really not a fan of that, but anyways....
