Ricky Weiss Records Pair of Top-5 Finishes in Weekend WoO Action
Leads Current WoO Rookie Battle; Up to Sixth in Overall Standings

Headingley, Manitoba, Canada (03/26/19) – Ricky Weiss enjoyed a great weekend behind the wheel of his Derrick’s Sandblasting #7w J&C Properties/ Sweet-Bloomquist Race Car/ Vic Hill Race Engine Super Late Model.

The Canadian racer recorded a pair of Top-5 finishes in World of Outlaws (WoO) Morton Buildings Late Model Series action.

“Honestly right now I think the car is better than the driver,” Weiss said. “We were able to gain some positions in the feature at Duck River on Friday night. Then, we were gaining on the leaders late at Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday, but just ran out of time. I would’ve loved to have seen about five or so more laps there, but I’m still happy with a third-place finish. We’ll head back to the shop now and get everything ready for the Illini in a few weeks.”

Ricky Weiss followed the World of Outlaws (WoO) Morton Buildings Late Model Series to Tennessee over the weekend for a doubleheader. Action opened on Friday night at Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee). In a field of 37 cars, Weiss scored a second-place finish in his heat race behind Chase Junghans, which positioned him eighth on the starting grid for the opening night feature.

Breaking into the Top-5, Ricky improved four spots to finish fourth behind Brandon Sheppard, Chase Junghans, and Tanner English with Kyle Bronson completing the Top 5.

The following night at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee), Weiss qualified fifth fastest before placing third in his heat race. Rolling off ninth for the finale, Ricky gained six spots to record a third-place finish behind Jimmy Owens and Brandon Sheppard with Darrell Lanigan and Chris Madden completing the Top-5 finishers.

With his weekend performances Ricky jumped up to sixth in the latest WoO point standings. He continues to lead the WoO Rookie of the Year competition. For full results from these events, please visit www.WoOLMS.com .
