Hardgrove and Yantz Team up for Something Special at the Lengendary Ponderosa Speedway!!

It’s no secret in the world of dirt racing Promoter Brandon Hardgrove knows how to bring in the fans from all over to pack the stands at his facility Lake Cumberland Speedway located in Burnside Ky. In the last two seasons as promoter,Hardgrove has not only exceeded his expectations with record car counts but fan counts as well with loads of support from fans and drivers racing every Saturday at the 3/8 mile dirt oval .

In a recent discussion between Mr. Hardgrove and Yantz they both agreed ponderosa Speedway did not need to die out like lots of other racetracks around the world. Mr .Yantz successfully promoted here in previous years and also was the recent promoter at Richmond Raceway in Richmond Ky before stepping down in retirement. It did not take him long to see their was a call for him to come back being involved again as Ponderosa had no plans of opening in 2019.

Mr.Hardgrove then agreed to lease the track from current owners and taking charge as promoter. As his main focus has to be Lake Cumberland Speedway for approx. 30 events a year racing every Saturday night. Mr. Hardgrove stated “that he always thought Larry Yantz was great for our sport and excited to join forces .” The first event kicks off May 17th paying $3000 to win!

They have both come to the conclusion that in order for the so called “POND” to be successful it will be special events only being it is so hard for fans and drivers to make it to a Friday Event . These events will be backed up to the special events at Saturday night tracks events including Lake Cumberland Speedway . ,Richmond Raceway ,and possibly Florence Speedway in northern ky in hopes of bringing in race teams from other states doubling up on winning and paying bonuses!
Mr. Hardgrove has now took the role as promoter of Ponderosa Speedway while Mr . Yantz is going to run day to day operations and be the general manager including track preparations being over the Speedway. Mr Hardgrove also stated “we have a lot of great people at LCS that are walking this journey as well willing to help Ponderosa Speedway way alive.” Brian Abner will fill the role as media director/ announcer while Chad and Sarah Yantz will lead tower controls involving scoring by transponders and Donnie Gumm as Flagman.

This looks to be a exciting future for a great team to keep dirt track racing alive. They will be running super late models , crate late models , open wheel modified, superstocks , and 4 cylinders for a total of at least 10 events throughout the season this year!
A full schedule of events will be released in the upcoming days...
