Earl Pearson Jr. Ready to Return to Competition with LOLMDS
Illini State Double Header on Deck

Shreveport, Louisiana (04/23/19) – After enjoying an off weekend, Earl Pearson Jr. is eager to return to competition this weekend – April 26-27 – with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) in his Black Diamond Racecars House Car/ Lucas Oil No. 1 Drive4Etch.com/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Pearson Jr. has climbed into the second spot in the series standings as he pursues his fifth LOLMDS title.

“We’re really looking forward to getting back to action this weekend,” Pearson Jr. said. “We don’t have the number of wins that I would like to have at this point, but our consistency is getting better and better, and that’s allowed us to climb to second in the points. Jonathan [Davenport] is running awfully good right now, so we know we’ve got to be on top of our game if we are going to make up ground on him in the points.

“Even though we didn’t race last weekend, my crew busted tails around the shop making sure our equipment is fresh and ready to go. You always know it’s going to be a challenge when you roll into Illinois and have to face not only the talented Lucas Oil guys but also the talented regional guys from that area. I’m confident that our team is up to the challenge though.”

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) was last in action two weekends ago with a run through the Northeast. While two events were nixed by rain, the series was able to complete two races. On Thursday, April 11 Earl finished fifth at Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio), and on Saturday, April 12 he recorded a sixth-place finish at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Maryland).

Via his performances he moved from third to second in the series standings.

This weekend, Earl travels to the Land of Lincoln for a pair of $12,000-to-win events. Action opens on Friday night at Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois) before shifting to the ultra-tight confines of Macon Speedway (Macon, Illinois).
