Brucebilt Iron-Man Modified Series Rolls into Tri-County & I-75 Raceway May 3 & 4

SOMERSET, KY (April 25, 2019) – The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will resume racing competition with a double-header weekend of action on Friday May 3 at Ray Cook’s Tri-County Race Track located in Brasstown, N.C. then Saturday May 4 at the Kyle Family-promoted I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tenn. Both events will pay $1,500-to-win and $150-to-start.

The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will make the second-ever visit to the Ray Cook-promoted race track located just outside of Murphy, N.C. paying $1,500-to-win and $150-to-start, racing 25 laps in the feature race. Also on the racing card at Tri-County Race Track on Friday May 11 will be the Limited/Crate Late Models, Modified Street, Street Stock, 602 Beginner, Pony and Front Wheel Drive classes. The pit area will open at 4:00 pm with the grandstand area opening at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., followed immediately by hot laps. Ticket prices for the Friday May 3 event at Tri-County Race Track in the general admission area will be $15 for adults while a pit pass will be $30 for adults. Kid’s bike races will also happen during intermission.

The following evening, the Iron-Man Modifieds will make their second-ever appearance at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tenn. on Saturday May 4 for an event that will pay $1,500 to win in a 25 lap main event. Joining the Brucebilt Modifieds at I-75 on Saturday May 4 will be the track’s Sportsman, B-Sportsman, A Hobby, B Hobby, Four Cylinder, Thunder and Front Wheel Drive divisions. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m., with the drivers meeting at 6:45 p.m., followed immediately by practice laps. Ticket prices for the Saturday May 4 at I-75 Raceway in the general admission area will $15 for adults in the general admission and tier parking while a pit pass will be $30 for adults.

During the 2018 visit to Tri-County Race Track, Billy Workman, Jr. claimed the payday over Clayton Miller, Shon Flanary, Taylor Cook and Chase King. During I-75 Raceway action in 2018, Ryan Ayers claimed the event victory over Austin Holcombe, Clayton Miller, Shane Roberts and Wayne James.

The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will sanction the Open Wheel Modified portion of the event and tire rules are as follows: Hoosier M30 or M60 and American Racer Hard and Extra Hard. The Hoosier M60 and American Racer Extra Hard may be used as a right-rear option. The series runs under UMP technical rules. The entry fee for both events will be $50 per event and random tire samples will be taken by the series. The event will feature hot laps, qualifying, last chance heats (if needed) and the 25 lap main event.

In the season-opening event at Clarksville Speedway on March 2, Tyler Nicely of Owensboro, Ky. grabbed the $1,500 payday over Allen Weisser, Clayton Miller, Trent Young and Jamie Lomax.
