BATAVIA, OHIO (May 2, 2019) - Due to the likelihood of rain and thunderstorms this weekend, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events at Tazewell (TN) Speedway and Florence (KY) Speedway have been postponed.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return to Tazewell Speedway on Friday, June 28 for the Toyota Knoxville/Secret City Dodge Jeep/Ted Russell Ford 50. The 33rd Annual Ralph Latham Memorial at Florence Speedway will follow on Saturday, June 29. Both events will remain a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $12,000-to-win main event.

"We have a lot of competitors and fans who travel and enormous amount of highway miles to attend our events," said Series Director, Rick Schwallie. "We don't want anyone to have the burden of making a long trip for nothing. This gives everyone involved enough notice to change plans and get ready for the rescheduled dates."

Fans who currently have tickets for either event may use them for the rescheduled events on Friday, June 28 at Tazewell Speedway and Saturday, June 29 at Florence Speedway. No refunds will be given. For more information, visit: www.TazewellSpeedway.com or www.FlorenceSpeedway.com.

Oh heck yes!! I'm gonna be on vacation in Gatlinburg that week. Know what I'm doing on the Friday night now. Went to a Lucas race at the Taz in like 2008. It got rained out right at the start of qualifying. It was a real downer. The place is just crazy.

Chipped and bloomer fan:
Put Taz on your bucket list. I live 30 miles from the track I have been to dirt tracks from East Bay to Fulton, NY & from (east) Brunswick, Ga to (west) Knoxville, Iowa & the “TAZ” is not comparable to any other track you will see. During qualifying-the drivers hold there breath & hold on for 2 laps !
But: since the cars have gotten so much wider- it has changed the racing to a certain extent.
Also, you can’t go wrong in Gatlinburg- if you make it there- tryto go to Cade’s Cove in the National Park. It’s a 12 mile (one way) loop road and I think you would enjoy the awesome beauty !!
