No thanks $20 for a $3,000 show esp when it's $10 to get in for a $2,500 show so charge double for $500 that makes a lot of sense.

20 bucks for Fairbury is well worth it. 20 bucks at some other places maybe not so much.

To me it's well worth it. Its more than just watching the late models, its the WHOLE race card altogether. Will be a great entertaining evening.

Hey goober where do you think the Crate Late Model payout was going to come from. The only thing paid for was the regular classes. Not hard to see what wrong with racing fans whine about something.

Easy comes from entry fees and pit passes and sponsorship or as any other business that's were it should come from. I run many bowling tournaments over the years and that's where my payouts came from. I run a multi million $ business. Doesn't take a genius to figure out they make close to 1 mil pdc weekend alone.if if you truly break it all down.

And good for them if they do, although anyone with a grasp of grade school mathematics would see that those numbers don’t add up. Kills me when people are jealous of what someone else might make. So stay at home and keep your $20, that’ll teach em.

12,000 seats I say 2,000 are kids volunteers veterans. So 10,000 an this is on low end times 45$ for weekend that's a half million there plus 5,000 are reserved so x 10 to Thoses seats. Plus 265 camper spots x 45 each. Plus 120 cars with 3 pit crew x 75 per person so theirs all that. An that doesn't include concessions souviners beer or the sponsors they have for that weekend.

Not jealous by any means glad they are doing well. Everyone thinks that track is broke far from it. With the updates they had to because they were a non profit but now with curl majority owner now it's a business. That's why camping, general admission and pit passes for pdc went up in price for this year.

They should raise the prices for their weekly show's as well. I would be charging at least 15.00 a night.

Everyone has a right to choose whether a event warrants the price for admission so I won't knock you for your choice of going or not going.
As far as the PDC, if I was running the show as a businessman, I'd raise the prices on thee above mentioned as well. The crowd for this event has outgrown the facility. They sell more tickets than they have seats by a long shot. Curl and Co. don't promote these events to break even. It's a business. And when your product is that successful, you can raise those prices. For every person that decides to skip FALS PDC, their are 2 new fans that will come thru the gate. If FALS ever lost 1000 fans for the PDC and nobody would ever notice.

So if you lose fans you actually gain fans. Hmm? Wonder if I could apply that strategy to my bank account!!!! :)

So if a million people skip this race, then two million others will show up to take their place???? WOW!!!!

Is there another race track in the USA that charges $10 to get in for a 2,500 the win race & 12 and under are free to get in? If there is... I would like to here about that track. FALS give you more bang 4 you're buck then any track that I know of. Oak Shade also gives fans a great deal to get in as well.

Not complaining about weekly show. My point is $10 to get in for 2500 to win. But raise that to 3000 to win an it doubles? That's all I'm saying. An 8000 so let's say 6000 adults that's 270,000 just from admission not including reserved camp pits concessions.

If FALS makes a million off the PDC, that would mean Farmer City would make a quarter million off the illini 100, yet they can afford to buy toilet paper. I say your math is wrong.

I have been to Oak Shade the last two yrs. 4 the last 2 races of the Hell Tour. I'm pretty sure it was $12 bucks to get in for a 5k to win race & $12 to get in the 2nd night for a 10k to win race. But... Both times... You just hope for rain. They don't put enough water on the track. They bring out a mister to dampen the track. And it took rubber both times. No passing @ all. Maybe, I have had just bad luck there. Idk.. But, the prices were good & the fans pack the place.

Minus seat capacity I'm not too far off just do the math but it is what it is I know I drop a few thousand their that weekend alone. As far as farmer city woo leases that track for the illini so farmer city doesn't make the $ woo does as they put the show on. Also I use the bathroom at farmer never had an issue.

It's my business Christmas party. We do Christmas in July. I pay for 22 people to get in plus buy all the beer and food on Friday. So yeah I easily spend that. I just picked up 16 cases of beer for it as it was on sale 1099 a case. I'm usually far back with a big group before races and after races with bags beer pong bags an bonfire. We had some drivers come back last year. An expect more to join this year.

I followed racing because my uncle's raced in the 80's with him leka Mike mudd tom reints. I watched babb start in modifieds an have followed him ever since. An now I usually go to a few big races in my free time which is very limited. I buy a few drivers pit passes at some races I just randomly pick. I try to help the small teams out. My group is by burn pile an we are partying late usually til 4am

t4g2
05-23-2019, 09:19 PM
Easy just any customer would complain if I raised my price on an item just because it's summer time. An wasn't complaining just saying you raise it 500 an add a class for 1000 so 1500 $ doubles the admission fee? Macon has just as many class an runs double features this weekend for $15 and how you think I make multi millions by watching my $ an not throwing it around wasteful

Portsmouth has a memorial race in August that charges 12 for GA and 20 for a pit pass and pays 5k to win, and 1077 for fast time. About every class they run that night gets a pretty big boost purse wise from top to bottom.

You run a multi-million dollar business and think FALS makes a million dollars on PDC weekend...... this is why women say men ain't good with numbers.

No way FALS profits half of what you say. Being a business owner and all, you should understand all the expenses better than the average fan. I'd say, after all is said and done, if they profit 25% of what you claim they do, they would consider it a huge success.

Pdc break down. 6,000 people x 45= 270,000. 5000 reserved× 10= 50,000. 265 campspots x 45= 11,925. 130 cars per car has on average 3 pit crew s0 that's 390 pit passes × 75= 27,000 total of 358,920. Purse $ 96,000 = 262,920. That's before concessions so there's no way they have 196,500 in other expenses.as you say 75% is expenses since you say they m

So, since you originally claimed they PROFITED over a million dollars, are you saying they have no expenses AND they profited another $737,000 from concessions? That's what it would take.

I said 25% of what you claimed ($1,000,000) would make them happy.

If the track made the type of money you think, they would have had to of invested that money back into the facility, as they were a nonprofit. While they made some nice improvements, they didn't make million dollar race improvements.

Also, don't forget they would get some profits from PPV buys, and I hear those went well last year, also.
