ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Jason Baker of Addison, AL picked up his series-leading seventh Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the 2019 season in Week 12 action on Saturday night at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL driving the Carden Construction Special. Even though Baker is seventh in the National point standings, he is a leading contender for the 2019 National Championship.

Baker has 388 points after seven wins, 11 top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes in 13 races over eight weeks. That gives Baker the top Weekly Point Average (WPA) among the Top 20 driver in the National point standings at 48.50 out of a possible 50.

Just behind Baker in the National Street Stock points chase is a pair of Louisiana drivers tied for the eighth spot, and the second highest WPA at 48. Joe Rachel and Derek Perkins each have 384 points. Perkins has one win and eight top five finishes in eight races over eight weeks. Rachel also has eight top five finishes in eight races in eight weeks. Perkins and Rachel finished third and fourth respectively on Saturday night at Thunder Valley Speedway in Glenmora, LA.

Dylan Hamilton of Cantonment, FL is the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point leader after the first 12 weeks of the 27-week Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season. Hamilton has 479 points after two wins, nine top five finishes, and ten top ten finishes in ten races over ten weeks.

The 14-year-old driver has the fourth highest WPA at 47.90. Hamilton finished fourth on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL driving the Hamilton Motorsports Special. Joseph Nicholson of Fort Walton Beach, FL is second in the National standings with 469 points after one top five finish and 11 top ten finishes in 12 races over 11 weeks. Nicholson finished sixth on Saturday night at Southern Raceway driving the Nicholson Racing Special.

Hayden Moran of Covington, LA is third in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National standings with 466 points after two wins, eight top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 14 races over ten weeks. Moran finished second on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the We Buy Junk Cars Special.

Doug Taylor of Angie, LA is fourth in the Street Stock National standings with 449 points after three top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 11 races over ten weeks. Taylor finished sixth on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in the Taylor’s Beef Jerky Special.

Jeremy Eaton of Wiggins, MS is fifth in the Street Stock National standings with 416 points. Eaton five wins, eight top five finishes, and nine top ten finishes in nine races over nine weeks. Eaton drove the Parker Towing Special to a ninth-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS.

Jason Jackson took the win on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway and Josh Putman was the winner at Moulton Speedway in Danville, AL on Friday night. Ryan Colby of Greenville, MS drove the Lee’s Body Shop Special to a win on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway. Mike Lane of Wing, AL took his third win of the season on Saturday night at Southern Raceway driving the Lane Racing Special.

Will Nolen was the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division winner on Saturday night at Thunder Valley Speedway. Justin McRee of Woodstock, AL took the Street Stock victory on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS in the High Roller Race Cars Special.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National points at the end of the season will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.
