I’m talking special event wins. Any slm show that wasn’t a regular weekly deal.

I’m going with Donnie Moran and Bobby Pierce. Who ya got?

I'll go with Josh Richards. He had over 100 combined Lucas/WoO wins, 4 WoO titles and a Lucas title heading into the 2018 season. Believe he turned 26 in March of '18. No idea how many other wins he has??

Is B-Shepp 25? Sure he would be somewhere up on that list too.

Pierce and Donnie definitely safe bets on that list too.
Great topic.

Josh Richards was born in March 1988. He’s in his thirties now.

Probably Richards. He was touring pretty much from the jump.

That's how you know you're getting old...
when you have a kid's age wrong by 4 years!!

Sorry fellas...
Richards is 31 now, not 27. Kick in the shorts to me.

All of that said, he still had a ton of wins by age 25.

Someone from years ago who ran three locals or more tracks every weekend, is the one who has the most wins. I don't see anyone mentioned so far that fits that bill.

It says special event wins. Weekly wins don’t count.

How many crown jewels does Richards have?

pierceFAN
06-21-2019, 04:04 AM
pierce has over 100...maybe 101...at age 22...for bobby to get 700 feature wins...by age 50...he would have to win an average of 21.5 features a year for 28 years lol...dont see bloomer or moyers number ever being touched

I don't think he was in the 100's by 25. Back then he raced 4 nights a week though!

Pierce has over 100 special event wins? I didn't know that.

Most are $5000 to win....he has 23 total that are at least $10000 to win and 16 of those are over $10k...he will have a very impressive resume when it's all said and done...

Got to be Richards, Sheppard or Pierce. I would guess BShep. A lot of ump summernationals wins which I would say are "special events" as opposed to ump points races.

If you look at Crown Jewels (not sure if Richards won his first crown jewel before 25 or not). He won the USA Nationals at Cedar Lake in 2011 and added another there in 2016 a week after winning the PDC at Fairbury but probably over 25 yrs old in 2016. The first Nationals victory is his only crown before 25 years old.

How old is BShep? He's got a DTWC win from 2013 and from 2016. Also USA Nationals last year and Dream this year. I would guess his first DTWC was his only crown before 25.

Pierce has a North/South and World victory in the same year plus a Show-Me win. Pretty sure he's still under 25 today.

Not sure about random other $5K or $10K specials but for crown jewels it looks like Pierce has a good shot to take this crown. And if you ask me, you're supposed to shine in the jewels if you're really the best, against the best competition.

So if he has over 100 special wins, any idea of his total number including weekly shows?

I really had no idea he had over 100 specials......that's definitely impressive so far.

Anything under 10k I don't consider a special show.

Fair, but to me anything $3K and up is a special show (not as special as they used to be, but as is the times.)... I don't consider anything under $10K to be a particularly big race.

Opinions very but just because they throw a name beside the event or because it's a memorial doesn't make it a special show to me. Not knocking anyone's accomplishments at all bobby has an Impressive resume and so does the other guys mentioned.

Any show that has a winner's purse higher than the weekly shows is a special.

Mason87
06-21-2019, 01:39 PM
Then basically every SLM race is a special, not many tracks run them weekly

that is correct!....also keep in mind....back in the day....a "BIG" feature win was $5000...they didnt have but a handfull that paid more than that....cant discredit those smaller wins...nobody discredited them when bloomer...moyer...smith...duval...moore...etc etc racked them up

Mason87

I'm not discrediting anyone's wins, just stating what I feel is a special event. I would consider the summer nationals special even though they aren't paying every race 10k. Any win in those are impressive with that region has by far the best drivers around.

Around here (Iowa), I would consider every SLM race to be a special.

If the numbers are right it really doesn't matter......beating everybody everywhere ain't too shabby.

Only 6K to win tonight at Lernerville with a seriously stout field. That’s a special event any way you look at it. Same with the 5K to win Summernats shows.

I wouldn't be ashamed to win a super late model race anywhere, no matter what the pay. We often see local guys running top 5-10 when the big shows come to their local track. Don't be fooled by payouts, there are some dang good drivers out there that don't tour for one reason or another. It wasn't very many years ago that most of the WOO guys were not qualified thru the heats at the PDC due to the local & regional guys taking the spots.

Obviously you didn't read my other post, in no way did I say a driver should be ashamed of winning any super race anywhere alli said is I don't consider anything under 10k a special show. I didn't say payouts decided if a field was good or not. The summer nationals are great and like I said in another post winning any of those are impressive with some of the regional guys around there they can hold their own with anyone.

Wasn't meant to call you out. I just randomly picked your post hit reply on. My comments were just in general, not directed at anyone specific. Sorry it appeared that way.
